On Friday October 18, the SHS Cheerleaders held a bake sale in honor of Pinktober. The Student Council, Leadership, and Culinary Arts groups, also contributed to helping provide homemade goodies for the bake sale. Proceeds helped local families in need to assist with medical expenses as they battle cancer.
Thank you to United manager, Chris Phillips, for donating $50 in waters and Cokes for the bake sale. Also, thank you to the students, teachers, and community for their support in the Pinktober bake sale. Sundown ISD raised a grand total of $1,457 just during the bake sale and auction. Overall $7,631 was raised with private donations and t-shirt sales.
It’s a blessing to have everyone come together to help spread awareness, and going pink in support of the fight against breast cancer. Again, Thank You to everyone for the support and donations. There is nothing better than being a SUNDOWN ROUGHNECK!!
