Our Roughneck Band earned a first division rating from all three judges at the Region 16 UIL Marching Band Contest last Saturday, October 19, 2019! It was the band’s 32nd consecutive year for a first division 1 rating! Directors are Justin Mauldin, Georgann Weisgerber, and Mac Bibb. The 100 students were absolutely flawless when playing “American Heroes Letters From War,” by Luke McMillan. The judges comments were all optimistic!
The SHS band members were brilliant during this nonstop day and represented their town and school admirably. We want to express our gratitude to all who came out to support us at Lowery Field! It was astonishing to see and hear so many fans cheer on the Pride of the Oil Patch, including Coach Cummings and our Roughneck football team! The Sundown community loves showing appreciation to our students who work diligently to accomplish all that they do. Congratulations to the Roughneck Band!
