This Friday afternoon, the Sundown Roughnecks are taking on the Lindsay Knights in the Area round of the Class 2A playoffs at Jim Ned stadium in Tuscola, Texas at 7:00pm. The Roughnecks are going into the second round 7-4 after coming up with a big win over Panhandle last Friday that shocked the 806 in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. The Roughnecks offense is coming into this week's game strong as they put up a whopping score of 60 against Panthers last Friday. The Roughnecks defense is looking to obliterate the Knights and dominate the line of scrimmage as they try to turn the ball back over to the men in red and blue. “The game plan going into this week is the same as last week’s, execute the run and pass and stop the run and pass on defense,” said Coach Newton.

This week’s game is going to be an exciting game as the Roughnecks pulled off an epic upset against the Panthers and are hoping to pull out a win and advance to the third round, and to play over the Thanksgiving Holiday break. All of Sundown ISD is released at 1:15pm in order to make the long trip. The send off is at 12:45 and the location is to be announced later this week. This Friday come out and support the Roughnecks.  In words of Coach Elam, “Go To Work!” GO ROUGHNECKS!!!! BEAT THE KNIGHTS!!!!
