Meagan Gonzalas is one of the many new teachers that decided to join the Sundown Roughnecks & Roughettes for 2020-2021. Looking back while growing up, her father was a very inspirational figure and great coach when she was younger. He had coached her in most all the sports she participated in. Her father inspired her, without knowing it, to become a coach and she wants to inspire as many people to work hard no matter how difficult the road becomes.
Coach Gonzales’ favorite quote is “May he bless you with goals, that when set seem impossible. But when achieved through hard work and discipline, seem far more richer and sweeter than ever imagined.”- A Champion's Prayer - Coach G, as she is called, mentioned that her father would send her this quote after a difficult day to hopefully get her in the right mindset.
Coach Gonzales attended LCU after graduating from Cooper High School in Lubbock. She was very successful in softball while attending LCU. Her favorite food is street tacos. Coach G's favorite thing about Sundown ISD so far is the community. The community is very welcoming and nice. Coach G is an Elementary PE teacher and the head coach for Sundown softball. Coach Gonzales has done so much for the Sundown Roughnecks in the little time she has been here. She is very appreciated here at Sundown ISD. Welcome Coach G!
