On Monday October 14, 2019 the Sundown Middle School Girls were crowned District Champs in Cross Country. The Middle School Girls scored 23 points and runner up, Tahoka, scored 45. It was another landslide win for the SMS Roughettes Cross Country team.
The Middle School Girls Cross Country first runner, Julia Posadas, finished in 1st place with a time of 14:40. The Girls second runner, Jaelin Wylie came in 3rd place with a time of 14:58, followed by Ya-Ya Lopez in 7th overall with a time of 16:21. Kadee Riley finished in 10th place with a time of 16:29, and next was Allie McCormick in 12th with a time of 16:55. Then, Marivel Acosta-Lopez crossed the line in 17th place with a time of 18:02, and following her was Corina Torrez in 22nd place with a time of 18:42. Alissa Hart finished in 23rd with a time of 18:52, and Jaymee Medrano 27th with a time of 22:11. Great job to the SMS Girls for a huge victory to finish off the season!
