Senior Spotlight - Aidon Olivas

Aidon has been a Roughneck since the three year old program and now he is graduating a part of the Class of 2021. Aidon has a very vivid memory of his mom getting mad at him in elementary for coming home everyday with a different pair of shoes from trading with his friends. Aidon’s favorite memory from middle school was the time they were about to get off the bus at a football game against Plains when James said “Let's go get us an Eagle!” Aidon's favorite thing about High school was being able to compete with his cousin Michael in football and in track.

Aidon has competed in varsity events all four years of high school and these are some of his accomplishments: Freshman: Track- varsity 400m area and regional qualifier, 4x400m area and regional qualifier, high jump. Sophomore: Track- varsity 400m area and regional qualifier, 4x400m area and regional qualifier, high jump area and regional qualifier. Junior: State cross-country alternate, varsity football, 3rd in regional powerlifting. Senior: cross-country, varsity football, powerlifting, varsity track.

Aidon’s favorite class in high school was Mr. Richardson’s welding class. Aidon plans to further is education at SPC then transfer somewhere he can run track. Aidon's favorite quote is "You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. You are here to create yourself, continuously." - Richard Feynman. Aidon has a role model that has influenced him all of his life, his dad. Aidon leaves the under-classmen with some advice, "Study hard and practice hard like you have something to prove to everyone." We wish the best for Aidon Olivas in his future and the rest of the graduating class of 2021.
