Senior Spotlight - Alexa Rodriguez

Alexa Rodriguez is another student in the Class of 2021. After originally joining the Class of 2021 in the 3 year old program here at Sundown, Alexa must have thought we were not cool enough and left until the fifth grade. (Just kidding, Alexa!) Upon returning, Alexa made quite a name for herself wearing a Roughette uniform. Some of her accomplishments are going to State every year in cross country, placing first two of those years on the medal stand and second once. She also placed ninth individually this past year. Her favorite memory from high school was when she was crowned the Homecoming Queen. She has been a member of the National Honors Society since 2018.

Alexa plans to attend Texas Tech University and study Pre Physical Therapy. Her favorite class throughout her high school career was being Coach Darden’s teacher aide 1st period. Role models in her life have been her mother and father. Her favorite quote is, “You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” - Dr. Seuss. Finally, her advice to any underclassmen is “You are not always guaranteed a year or a season, so enjoy it and work hard.” We wish Alexa all the best as she takes on the remainder of her senior year.
