2022 Senior Spotlight - Idaly Maldonado

Idaly Maldonado became a Roughette in second grade and is now getting ready to graduate with the Class of 2022. Idaly's favorite memory from elementary school was watching movies in Ms. Berry's classroom while they ate snow cones. From middle school, Idaly's favorite memory was when she was sent to the office with a bunch of other girls for pantsing each other on the football field during athletics. Moving into high school, her favorite memory was when Idaly, Saharia, Lisa, and Micaela lit a table on fire in Mrs. Nichol's A&P class. Sorry, Mrs. Nichols!

Idaly has received the following awards for her accomplishments:

Highest Average Award- English 1, Highest Average Award- Reading 3, Merit Award- Spanish 2, Leadership Certification of Recognition

Idaly was involved in Leadership which was also her favorite class in high school. They spent many hours mentoring young students in the elementary on a weekly basis. Idaly plans on going to Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas to study to be a Dental Assistant. Idaly’s favorite quote is "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." by C.S. Lewis.

To Idaly, Coach Gonzales has served as her role model. Idaly's  words of wisdom to the underclassmen are, “Don't take everyday for granted. High school will be over before you know it.” And just like that, Idaly will be walking off the stage in May as a graduate of the Class of 2022.
