2022 Senior Spotlight - JoAnna McAdams

JoAnna McAdams has been a part of the Roughneck Nation since the 7th grade. One of her favorite middle school memories was going to Joyland with friends and having a blast. Her best high school memory was taking her culinary arts submissions to the South Plains Fair.

JoAnna has received many awards including the following: Golf Regional Qualifier 2018 & 2020, Regional Qualifier UIL Feature Writing and Ready Writing, 6th place State News Writing, All-Region Band French Horn, Pride of the Oil Patch State Marching Band Qualifier & placing 2nd at State her sophomore year. JoAnna is involved in Apollo, UIL, NHS, and golf. JoAnna has had a very successful high school career and she is not done competing just yet!

After leaving Sundown High School, JoAnna has decided to attend college at either Lubbock Christian University or Texas Tech to study Creative Writing and English.

JoAnna’s role models are her mom and her sister Grace. Her favorite inspirational quote is written by Stan Lee, "If you have an idea that you genuinely think is great, don't let some idiot talk you out of it." 

JoAnna’s friendly advice to underclassmen is do not waste your high school years stressing out.
