2022 Senior Spotlight - Mathayus McGlasson

Mathayus McGlasson has been a Sundown Roughneck since 1st grade. His favorite memory from his first year in Sundown was performing in the first grade follies. His favorite middle school memory was when he won the homemade costume contest at the Renaissance Fair during the Apollo trip. Going to the state cross country meet his senior year has been his favorite memory so far. 

Mathayus’ role model through high school was his mom. He plans to study Marine Biology at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. Mathayus has received many awards in high school including:

Sophomore 19-20

UIL - Spelling and Vocabulary, National Honor Society

Junior 20-21

High Average Award - Forensic Science, UIL - Spelling and Vocabulary / District 3rd Place Individual, National Honor Society

He has also been involved in the following organizations/sports:

Apollo - freshman, UIL Spelling - freshman-senior, National Honors Society- junior & senior, Cross country- freshman-junior, Cheer- freshman- senior, Tennis- freshman- senior, Baseball- freshman-senior
