2022 Senior Spotlight - Kylee Newsom

Kylee Newsom has been a part of  Sundown since she was in Pre-K. One of her favorite elementary memories was when she and Karli Torres would go to Mrs. Torres’ classroom to color in the morning. Her most memorable moment from high school was when she performed Pitch Perfect at cheer camp.

Kylee has accomplished many things throughout high school including AB Honor Roll, receiving 2nd in State for band, and getting  accepted into UMHB, HBU, WT, Howard Payne, and ACU. She was a part of the Sundown cheer squad her freshman through senior year, NHS her sophomore through senior year, student council, One Act Play, and the Sundown Roughneck Band. Moving on from her high school career, Kylee plans to attend the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor to study nursing.

While growing up, Kylee's great grandmother served as a wonderful role model to her. Kylee’s favorite quote states, “Good things take time.” - John Wooden. Some friendly advice from Kylee to younger drivers would be to always turn on your car lights at night…or you’ll get pulled over!

Roughneck Nation wants to thank Kylee Newsom for everything she’s done for our school. We will miss you!
