The Sundown 7th Graders have wrapped up their recent service project of selling Sundown themed blankets! When discussing the hopes they had for this project, they all had one goal in mind; help their fellow classmates out. Inspired by Mrs. Kayla Belew, they came up with an idea to help purchase school supplies for families in need. Initially, they thought they could raise enough funds to help out a couple of students or a couple of families in the process. However, it turns out that they raised all of that and MORE! To add to the challenge, and the personal goal Mrs. Belew set for each student of selling 10 goals, Middle School Principal Mr. Salazar came in clutch with "an offer they couldn't refuse"! For every 15 blankets the students sold, their name would be in a drawing for a NEW pair of shoes! We had a number of students that met this goal which contributed to helping to raise more than $10,000 for this fundraiser! Our hope is to purchase supplies for ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS for the 24-25 School Year! We are also proud to announce that Leandra Ibarra was the winner of the shoes! She selected the 2024 Valentine's Day Dunk Lows! We want to thank those of you that purchased blankets and want to inform you that the volume of blankets we ordered (more than 400!) has pushed the arrival date to April! Thanks again to all of you that supported our 7th Grade Service Project!!!

Roughettes end day 1 of the Idalou tournament with 5-5 tie against a good Muleshoe team. Play again tomorrow at 5:45 against Borger.
