Welcome back and Happy New Year! Over the break, our varsity basketball teams competed in the Caprock Classic and both teams came away with 2-2 records. Boys beat Rankin before falling to Idalou and Slaton in closely contested games then finished off the tournament with a win over Kingdom Prep. Girls opened with a win over New Deal, dropped a game to Merkel, defeated Veribest and then lost to Nocona. It was great experience for both teams. JV and Varsity boys and girls then travelled to Spur on Jan. 3 and came away with 4 wins. Here is the schedule for this week: Tuesday Jan. 7 - Varsity Girls and Boys @ Roswell Goddard - 5:00 and 6:15 pm TEXAS TIME. Thursday Jan. 9 - 7th and 8th Boys and Girls host the Sundown JH Tournament. Games start at 3:45 pm. Friday Jan. 10 - JV and Varsity Girls here vs. Vega. Varsity @ 5:00 pm & JV @ 6:15 pm. JV and Varsity Boys here vs. Hale Center. JV @ 5:00 pm & Varsity @ 6:15 pm. (JV games in back gym & Varsity games in front gym. Note change of times and games to accommodate traveling teams.) Saturday Jan. 11 - 7th and 8th JH Tournament continues. Games begin @ 9:00 am.
