School is officially cancelled for next Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12th and 13th (Monday, Nov. 11th is already a school holiday) for all campuses. Our Band has qualified for the State Marching Contest to be held on Tuesday, November 12th. Sundown ISD has decided to cancel school for Tuesday and Wednesday, to allow for safe travel for our Band, students, and community members to travel to San Antonio for the Band Competition. Tuesday will be a full day of competing, and the Band will return home on Wednesday. We are very proud of "The Pride of the Oil Patch" and want to allow all community members to make the trip to cheer them on! Monday is already a scheduled school holiday, so we are now adding Tuesday and Wednesday of next week as school holidays. Thank you for your continued support of Sundown ISD.
The pool heater is currently out, so there will be no night swim tonight. Hopefully, it will be good to go on Wednesday.

The Pride of the Oil Patch has done it again! They have qualified to compete at the State Marching Contest for a UIL RECORD 29TH time! The tradition continues for SUNDOWN! We are so very proud of our Band Director Mr. Justin Mauldin for the hard work and dedication to our students! Thank you to Mrs. Ashley Blount and Mr. Mack Bibb for their wisdom and leadership, our Band Specialists that have helped with different elements of our show, to our Band sponsors helping to organize the chaos of the day, and ESPECIALLY to our students for going out there and putting their best foot forward and GIVING US A GREAT SHOW! We are San Antonio Bound! The BEST is yet to come!

Our Roughneck Band will perform in the preliminary round at 1:15 p.m. TODAY at P.E. Shotwell Stadium in Abilene for the UIL 2A Area A Marching Contest! Tickets are available for $5 only at the stadium's southwest gate. There is no online option for ticket purchases at this contest.
