Softball update to tomorrow's schedule. The Roughettes will only play 1 game in Seminole at 11:30 instead of 2 games as originally scheduled.

Destiny Garza also hits 2 HR's and the final one ends the game in a 14-1 victory for the Roughettes!! Great day today ladies!

13 Roughneck Band students traveled to Abernathy today to compete in the Region 16 Solo/Ensemble Contest with a chance to qualify for State. These students earned 14 gold medals, and all have qualified for the Texas State Solo/Ensemble Contest, which will take place Memorial Day Weekend in Austin. Congratulations to the following students! Brass Quintet: Serenity Mulloy, Ryder Stanley, Bailey Corley, Lincoln Keesler, and Daniel Mauldin Percussion Ensemble: Carrigan Dietz, Kadyn Belew, Darby Bussell, Karter Hord, Raegan Reynolds, JC Jenkins, Ryder Bufe, and Stellan Sanders. These students work hard in their classes, athletics, OAP, band….you name it, and they are a part of it! It takes time and dedication to do what they do. We appreciate them and we are proud of them!

Last weekend our 7th & 8th grade robotics students competed at the First Lego League Regional Championship in Lubbock. They competed against schools from the Lubbock, Midland, and Amarillo areas. We are excited to share that one of our teams, Artifact Armor, has earned a spot as an advancing team and they will be attending the state robotics meet on March 7th. Team members are Eli Rodgers, Case Davis, Noah Pool, Kobe Hogan, BreAllyn Griffith, and Emma Pena The other two teams, GeoVision, and Indiana Janes also had a successful day at the contest. Indiana Janes- a team of Mali Sims, Roxie Hall, Brynn Carr, Janie Kearney, Emerson Demel, Hope Bush, and Caroline Martin won third in the Motivate award. And GeoVision- Jazlyn Huerta, Everett Perez, Avery Belew, Wyatt Sanchez, Stellan Sanders, and Valentina Carrion had Sundown's highest robot score for the day. We are very proud of how they represented Sundown this weekend and want to wish good luck to Artifact Armor at the state competition!

Boy's Powerlifting won their 3rd consecutive meet! We competed at the Lubbock High last qualifier's meet. Congratulations to these young men!

Roughettes beat Littlefield 5-1 in a great ball game this morning. They play again at 3:30 against Idalou.

Congratulations to our Girls Basketball Team on their all district honors!

Roughette Softball is in action today at 9:30 against Littlefield and 3:30 against Idalou. Both games are at our field. We have games being played out there all day today and tomorrow. Swing by, watch some softball, maybe grab a snack from the concession stand hosted by the Pride of the Oil Patch.

Sundown High School Social Action put together a plan to fill our pantry. Sundown ISD's SHAC committee is able to send food home during weekends and long breaks to students who need it. Our pantry was running low so Mrs. Jonna Evans Social Action class came to the principals with the idea that in exchange for 2 cans/boxes of food that students could wear pajamas to school last Friday. It was a huge success and we were able to fill up the pantry! Thank you to everyone who participated and made this successful.
