Sundown ISD celebrated the first student to graduate from it’s A.C.E. Program on December 10th, 2021. Luis Ramos Rodriguez was gathered by family, friends and Sundown ISD staff as he walked the stage to earn his High School Diploma on Friday night. Luis and his family moved to Sundown from Mexico a few years ago. His hard work, dedication and determination led to this special evening. It was a very special evening made even more meaningful because of our loving and caring staff and School Board at Sundown ISD. As they prepared for the ceremony, the decision was made to translate the speeches into Spanish so that his family could truly understand how proud they were of Luis. A.C.E. Principal Ann Marie Majors, and A.C.E. Teacher Emilie Griffith read their speeches and elaborated on how proud they were of Luis for overcoming the language barrier to accomplish being the 1st in his family to graduate from High School. School Board Member Fernando Sanchez completed the speeches with a word of encouragement and emphasizing the value of the diploma that had been earned.
We are so proud of Luis and know he will go on to achieve great things! Congratulations!
