From Coach Igo: The Roughnecks Boys Golf Team had their first outing of the year last week. We took 3 golfers to the Yoakum County Tournament and had a great showing. Please congratulate these young men if you see them! 57 total golfers Briar Miller: shot 79 , finished tied 2nd , won a scorecard tiebreaker to finish 2nd Place Medalist Blake Bownds: shot 83, good for 8th overall Adan Escamilla: shot 85, good for 9th overall This was a great start to the season, look forward to some great things from these guys.

From Coach Igo: Please congratulate the following student athletes on an outstanding season. These guys learned to work hard and improved in so many areas. I am very proud of this group. These Roughnecks had a great District race, battled every night , took the number 1 seed to overtime and had an opportunity to tie for the District Championship. Track Schedules @ Olton for this week

The Sundown Tennis team competed in the Levelland Small Schools Tournament on Thursday, March 3rd. They represented Sundown and competed well. The following students came home with some hardware: Gabriella Peralta and David De La Cerda won 1st in Mixed Doubles Noah Peralez and Jeremiah Peralez won 1st in Boys Doubles Johnny Acevedo and Alex Bocanegra won 2nd in Boys Doubles The following students also competed: Girls Singles Grace Peralta- 4th Devina Lopez Roxanna Mendoza Boys Singles Mathayus McGlasson Girls Doubles Layken Farrar and Taylor Garcia We have two more tournaments before district on Monday and Tuesday, March 28th -29th at Preston Manor in Wolfforth, Texas. Please congratulate these students when you see them and thank you for your continued support!

Sundown ISD would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Brandi Webb for the past 7 years she spent as the HS Cheer Sponsor! She is stepping down, and will serve alongside Mrs. Toni Garcia as a Cheer Sponsor for the Middle School Cheerleaders next school year. We are grateful for the time she served at High School, and we are looking forward to her guidance and leadership at the Middle School. From Mrs. Webb: 7 squads and a lifetime of memories! Roughneck Cheer has been one of the greatest blessings ❤️📣💙 I pray each of these kids can look back with joy and know that their hard work and dedication to promoting SHS made an impact on so many little Roughnecks and our community! From the long hours painting signs, decorating for pep rallies, and traveling all over to cheer on our Roughnecks to the fundraising, bake sales, and learning to give back to others, it’s been an amazing journey!!! Thankful for the opportunity and the blessings of every single moment!!! 📣

Girls Regional Powerlifting Results: Regional Champion Micaela Hernandez 1st Place and new deadlift record of 355 lbs in her class. Broke a 10 year old record that was 345. Aerial Hernandez 3rd place Mariah Stephens 5th Place Autum Olivas 7th Place Bridget Reyes 10th Place Sahaira Reyes 4th Place 6th place as a team.

A full page is $100, a half page is $80, and a quarter page is $60. Your ad price automatically includes a yearbook. To hold space for your senior, you will need to send a $30 deposit and the size of the ad you would like. You can turn in pictures and text copy the first week of May.

The SHS Girls golf team had a great day finishing second overall as a team at the Plains invitational. Bonus of beautiful weather all day long!

The HS OAP will be having their public performance of "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward tomorrow night at 7:30. Admission is free, and we'd love to see you there! We will be selling "Good Show Stars" for $1 each, if you'd like to leave a note for any student in our production.
