The Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Congratulations to the Pride of the Oil Patch, the Sundown Roughneck Marching Band for advancing to the Area Competition! They competed at the UIL Region 16 Marching Contest today at Lowrey Field and earned Division I ratings across the board for a clean sweep! They earned the honor of advancing to the Area Marching Contest that will be held in 2 weeks in Amarillo. Congratulations to Mr. Mauldin, Mrs. Blount and Mr. Bibb for their guidance and leadership in preparation for this competition. Also thank you to the band boosters for their help, the community that showed up to cheer them on, and to Coach Cummings and the Varsity Football Team for showing up to show our Band some love! It’s a great day to be a Sundown Roughneck!

Throw drive, third TD by a 3rd Roughneck. This time Isiah Flores from 12 yards out. 2 point play was ran in by E.J. Hernandez. With 8:27 to play in the half Sundown leads 21-7.

Hunter Tindol finished of another great Roughneck drive with a 6 yard TD rush. XP was no good. 13-0 Sundown over Floydada with 2:37 left in the 1st.
E.J. Hernandez finished of a nice first drive for the Roughnecks with a 3 yard TD run. XP was good by Kevin Garcia . 7-0 good guys with 7:33 left in the 1st.
The 8th grade roughnecks came out with a big win over the whirlwinds. The final score 26-0
