IMPORTANT!!! Please read, share, and spread the word! As many of you know, KCBD will be doing a feature on our amazing Sundown community on Tuesday, July 20. Sundown will be featured live on the 5:00 and 6:00 news. The City of Sundown, Sundown Chamber of Commerce, Sundown ISD, Boosters, our fire department, and many others are working to make this a special day! We need as many of our band members as possible to perform the fight song for this event! If you are not on vacation, we need your help. Our band is a huge part of this community, and we want to put it on display! And I understand there will be food. 😎 ***We will hold a practice in the band hall on Monday, July 19 at 1:00 pm to review the fight song. Please contact every band member you know and let them know! I will also communicate this through our Facebook page and the school's social media. ***At the event on Tuesday, July 20th, report time will be 4:30 pm at Sunset Park. I will share more details when I have them. One more thing…I will be out of town from July 10th through the 16th, so I could really use your help to spread the word! Please make sure all of your Roughneck Band friends know about the practice on the 19th and the event on the 20th. See you soon! Justin Mauldin Director of Bands Sundown High School

Seniors and families, The graduation ceremony will be held in the auditorium. Each family has 14 tickets. 6 seats are reserved for each family in the center aisles. The extra 8 seats for each family are first come first serve. We still plan on parents presenting diplomas to their graduate(s). Parents please sit in the outside seats of your row so that you can get to the stage without having to move around family members and others. The parade is still on for tonight as long as it is not raining. Seniors and their drivers will go to the back of the school building and get in their cars, while everyone else exits the front of the building and prepares for the parade. If it is raining kids will hang around and take pictures in the auditorium. Thank you and see you all tonight! Mr. Evans

Seniors and families…(Thursday, May 27th) There have been questions tonight about tomorrow’s graduation ceremony. Will it be outside or inside? As of this evening our plan is to have the ceremony at Slaughter Field. Currently we have placed the chairs on the field and we have set up the stage. Our concern at this time is the forecast for tomorrow. The chance for rain is 50% during our ceremony. The chances are higher earlier in the evening and they are still at 40% when the ceremony should end. Will it rain? Who knows for sure? However, if it rains beforehand as predicted, then it doesn’t give us much time to set up the stage. This will also create wet stands and seats for everyone in attendance. On a football night that’s okay, but not at a nice event like graduation. It may not rain beforehand, but it could still rain during the ceremony or there may even be a lightning delay. So, the plan at this time is to practice tomorrow at 10am at Slaughter Field followed by a run through in the auditorium. Around noon tomorrow we will make a decision based on the projected weather forecast for the evening. Maybe the forecast will change...who knows? I hope so, but it isn't likely. We have printed 2 more tickets per family if we have to go to the auditorium. That will give each family 14 tickets. Remember that tickets will be given to seniors tomorrow during rehearsal. Family members without a ticket will not be allowed into the ceremony. The ceremony will be broadcast by KLVT for those who will not be able to attend. Weather permitting, we still plan on a parade after the ceremony. I would just plan on no convertibles or open-air vehicles. Thank you... and Seniors...I will see you at 10am tomorrow. Mr. Evans
