Sundown HS Boys Golf Team Headed to State!!!
Isaiah Igo wins the Individual Regional Championship to help lead his team to the State Golf Tournament. He came into the day 2 strokes behind the defending state champion and beat him by 4 strokes today to win by 2 strokes shooting a 1 under par with a 71 today. Adan Escamilla and Briar Miller both had great days shooting better than yesterday. Adan shot 82 and Briar shot 86. Landry and Brock traded who was going to be the 4th score calculated in total. Yesterday it was Landry’s score, today it was Brock’s. Truly a team effort in these boys making it to state!!! A huge congratulations to our Regional Champion in Isaiah Igo and to Adan Escamilla, Briar Miller, Brock Bufe and Landry Farrar as they finished as the 3rd Place Regional Team and have qualified for the State Golf Tournament! Congratulations to Coach Kyle Igo and our SHS Boys Golf Team!!!

All of the guys are safely off the number 1 tee box on a windy day at Palo Duro Creek Golf Course in Canyon. Should be a great 2nd round.

SOFTBALL GAME UPDATE
Hale Center @ Sundown
Varsity @ 5 PM | Senior Night
JV game is canceled. Seniors will be recognized after the game.

Boys had a great day 1 of the regional golf tournament. They sit in a tie for 3rd place as a team and hold a 3 and 5 stroke lead over the next 2 teams. The top 3 teams and top 3 individuals (not on an advancing team) advance to the state tournament. Isaiah Igo sits tied for 2nd as an individual with 2 other players and there are 5 players within 5 strokes of them. It's going to be a great day tomorrow on the course to see how things shake out! Good luck boys! Rest up and hydrate and be ready for round 2!

All of the boys have made the turn in Canyon. Front 9 scores:
Isaiah - Even
Briar - 6 over
Adan - 6 over
Landry - 10 over
Brock - 12 over

Students have been rebuilding a utility trailer as time allows with Mr. Richardson at SHS! Last week they spent several days painting the finished product. Here are a few pics of the shop hands learning the do’s and dont’s of paint application.
