On Wednesday, December 4th, Sundown will host the District UIL Meet for Elementary and Middle School. This will be an ALL-Day event and we will utilize all classrooms in the Elementary and Middle School. Any student that is not involved in UIL will NOT attend school on this day. There is NO school for Elementary and Middle School students that are not involved in UIL. We also ask that students that are not in UIL to stay off school grounds as we host the UIL Competition. Students that ARE involved will be allowed to come and go to compete in their competition. Students will be given specific information in regards to their arrival time for their event(s). High School will remain on a regular schedule day.

TODAY is the LAST DAY!!! The Sundown 7th Grade class is fundraising to purchase school supplies for the middle school again! We had a successful fundraiser last year with the blankets and were able to purchase school supplies, as well as a shirt, for every single middle school student! This year we have decided to do two fundraisers to help with this goal. We kicked off the first fundraiser yesterday with an online store to purchase cold weather gear. The store will be open until NOVEMBER 20TH. If you do not want to purchase any items from the store, we are also taking donations. JV Boys basketball game that was scheduled for this Friday (Nov.22) has been Cancelled. The Varsity Boys will still tip off @ 6:15pm this Friday.

SMS One Act Play Earns Silver at the District Meet Congratulations to the Sundown MS OAP for earning the silver medal at the District Meet! We are so proud of each and every one of our students. Thank you to Mrs. Jonna Evans for directing this years play, and her assistants Mrs. Martha Buchanan and Mr. Hunter Stanley for the hours they dedicated to bring out the best in our students! Social action is doing a fundraiser on all 3 campuses, whichever adult on each campus gets the most feathers bought will be "pranked" on Friday the 22nd. Each adult has a different color feather. You can buy as many feathers as you want for say......Mr. Rich on the HS campus.

ATTENTION ROUGHNECK BAND FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!! Our Roughneck Band will receive their gold medals at a ceremony to be held this coming Monday morning at 8:30am in the Auditorium. Any and all are welcome to attend this special event! Hope to see you there!

We took 8, 7th and 8th graders to the All-Region Middle School Honor Band Auditions in Hale Center today! There were over 150 MORE students auditioning this year than last year with area middle schools that feed size 1A-4A High Schools! We are proud of all of those who showed up on a Saturday, and we want to especially congratulate these 2 for earning a spot: Lilly Reaves, 8th grade, 1ST CHAIR Bass Clarinet (for the 2nd year!)
