Sundown ISD is proud to officially introduce our new Sundown Middle School Principal for the 2026-2027 school year, Mrs. Katie Peña!
With a strong background as an Instructional Coordinator and campus leader, Mrs. Peña brings expertise in curriculum, instructional coaching, and teacher development. She has worked to strengthen classroom practices, support student growth, and build systems that promote both academic success and a positive school culture. What stands out most about Mrs. Peña is her servant leadership heart. She leads with high expectations, strong relationships, and a deep commitment to her students. Her leadership is grounded in faith, guided by purpose, and centered on doing what is right for kids every day.
We are grateful for the way God continues to bless Sundown ISD with leaders who are called to serve, and we are confident that Mrs. Peña will continue to build on the strong foundation at Sundown Middle School while helping lead us into the future. Sundown Middle School is a special place, and it deserves a leader who will continue to grow our students, support our staff, and pour into this community.
