Air Force vs Navy Football Game Enjoyed by Servicemen from Small Town Sundown Being selected for a Service Academy is rare and is quite an accomplishment… so to have 2 from small town Sundown serving our Country from different branches at the same time gets interesting! Pictured are Air Force Academy Cadet Koy Torres (left) and Naval Academy Midshipman Tripp Richardson (right) who attended the Air Force vs Navy game in Annapolis today. Both are graduates of Sundown High School, Koy in 2023 and Tripp in 2020. Koy is in his first year at the Air Force Academy and Tripp is in his last year at the Naval Academy. Many thanks to these young men for choosing to serve this great country. Sundown is extremely proud of them both! Also pictured are rival Sundown ISD Educators, Welding Teacher Mr. Mike Richardson and our beloved 5th Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Frana Torres. these two have impacted the lives of so many Sundown ISD students over the years, and have also entertained the Sundown ISD staff for just as many years! Friday was filled with friendly rivalry between these two as the beaming pride they have for their respective children was on FULL display throughout the day! Navy and Air Force were rivals on the field, but there is nothing but love and support from one another from our fellow Service Men as well as our Sundown Educators! We are so very proud of our Sundown Roughnecks!
