Sundown HS Qualifies 14 Strong to the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Brownfield Congratulations to our 14 Regional Boys Powerlifting Team as they will compete in Brownfield on Thursday, March 7th with the meet to start at 1 PM. Rolando Rivera, Ryan Pope, Derek Martinez, Michael Salazar, Branson Sanders, Rickey Melendez, Jaxon Rodriguez, Tyson Reyes, Brayson Frey, Andrew Rodriguez, Bradyen Longoria, Jacob Lujan, Andrew Castillo and Xavyn Garcia will compete in their respective weight class for a chance to qualify to the THSPA State Powerlifting Meet! We want to wish them luck as they represent us with Sundown PRIDE! Go Big Red! We are Sundown STRONG!

Middle School Robotics Family Night Sundown Middle school parents were recently invited to the classrooms for a Robotics Family Night! We continue to receive great support from our Sundown families, so Mrs. Bufe wanted to show her appreciation by hosting a night to help explain the rules and point system for the Robotics competition. Thanks to all the parents for their continued support of such a great GT program!

One of our core values at Sundown ISD is to “LOVE OTHERS”, so it is time to show our love and support to our fellow Texans in need. What has now become the largest fire in the history of the State of Texas, there are many families in need. We are going to accept donations at the Sundown Middle School Office starting Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8th. All donations will be taken to Borger, TX to be distributed to those in need. Here is a list of items we are seeking. Jaelin Wylie Earns Trip to State! Congratulations to our State Powerlifting Qualifier, Jaelin Wylie! She earned a qualifying total at 645 lbs! She had a 260 lb Squat, a 145 lb Bench and finished with a 240 lb Deadlift! She will compete at the State Powerlifting Meet over Spring Break. We are proud of all of our Regional Qualifiers, and a special congratulations to Jaelin Wylie! We are Sundown Strong!

Roughettes lost the final game of the day 8-4 to a really good Midland Greenwood team. Paola Huerta thought her 1st home run was pretty cool so she hit another against Greenwood.
