Senior parents, with graduation right around the corner, your seniors were given a Hockley County News Press information form last week. These are due back by April 25th. They were also emailed a request for pictures. Please help us on getting these filled out and returned to Mr. Townsend so your child will be in the paper.

It was a great day in Abernathy!! All 3 groups earned a Sweepstakes trophy with 1st division ratings from all judges!
We are so proud of their performances and growth this year. Come hear these young musicians at the Spring Concert on May 11th.

Maycee, Jaymee, Ella, Morgan, and Taylor finished up day 2 of the regional golf tournament. It was a pretty windy day, but the girls battled. Maycee set another P.R. with a score of 104 to lead the Roughettes today.

The girls golf team consisting of Ella McCormick, Maycee Motheral, Jaymee Medrano, Morgan Griffith, and Taylor Garcia finished up round 1 of the regional tournament and have earned an early dinner. 3 of them, Jaymee, Maycee, and Morgan all shot personal best rounds today. They will rest up tonight (and do homework) and play another 18 tomorrow.

The "Braces Braces Braces" Lubbock location has graciously donated a certificate for a Full Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment (Braces from start to finish) to the family of Kennedi Diaz in order to bless either a Middle or High school student from Sundown in honor of Kennedi. This is an enormous blessing that we are excited to get to give to someone. In lieu of the district picking who will receive this gift, we are asking those who have a student that needs braces, but whose financial situation is not allowing that at this time, to answer the questions in the Google Form for a chance to be entered into a drawing to see who receives the certificate. All of the information you provide will be kept confidential. We ask that all entries are completed by Friday, May 5th. A drawing to determine the winner will be held shortly after that date. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Griffith [jgriffith@sundownisd.com] in the High School office or Mr. Salazar [msalazar@sundownisd.com] in the Middle School office.
If you are interested, please complete the application now!

We are so fortunate to have a great cafeteria staff taking care of our students each and everyday! Our Cafeteria Ladies are such hard workers and are valuable members of our Sundown ISD Family! We want to take this opportunity to congratulate Norma Perez and Melissa Garza for their recent promotions! Ms. Perez has been named Child Nutrition Manager, and Mrs. Garza has been named Child Nutrition Director. They will coordinate together to continue providing a healthy meal for our students!
