Congratulations to all of the winners at the Character Counts assembly on Friday! The elementary ended a great six weeks learning about respect.

The 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games scheduled for this Thurs. Nov 11 vs Farwell have been cancelled.

Sundown MS and HS Students competed at the Robotics Competition held today at Monterey High School. Our robotics team is under the direction of Mrs. Ashley Bufe. The HS group finished 16th overall. This is a very impressive feat considering there robot failed 3 times. The robots got to compete in 6 rounds. The HS robot had their motor go out which resulted in them missing two rounds. They replaced the motor and rebuilt part of their robot. On the last round the battery died because of the time they spent working on the motors. They battled and came up short, but we are proud of their efforts. The MS group robot finished 12th overall. Their notebook qualified them for the wild card battle round. They won the battle round which moved them into the semifinals with one other MS and 6 HS teams. They competed in 3 more rounds coming in 5th place missing the final round by one spot. Sundown MS was the top MS team at the competition! ”It was a very long day! But I was impressed with [our students] focus and improvisation!” exclaimed Mrs. Bufe after the competition.

Francis and Koy both set P.R.’s today. Francis finished 11th with a time of 12:31 and Koy finished 12th with a time of 17:12. Great day for both kids! We are super proud of both of them!!!
Correction. Koy was 12th!!
Koy finished 13th and his goal was under 18:00 and he accomplished that!
Francis Ybarra set her P.R. at the state meet and finished in 11th place! Great job Francis!!
Best of luck to Koy and Francis at the State XC meet this morning in Round Rock. Francis runs at 8:30 and Koy runs at 9:00.
