Third, fourth and fifth graders spent Tuesday morning learning about opportunities available after they leave SISD. Big thanks you’s go out to the following professionals who made our morning a success! Mrs. Kristin Bingham and Dr. Tori Hall from SPC with the help of Roxie Hall who talked about Science careers. Dr. Allan Camacho from Covenant Family Medicine in Levelland shared about it his career in medicine as a PCP. Mr. Mike Richardson and his welding students presented about welding and building trade careers and the soft skills necessary to be successful. Mrs. Breanne Rice from Breezy Street Salon shared her experience as a business owner and cosmetology. Dr. Miguel Salazar shared an interactive presentation about the field of education. It was a fun morning with lots of great information! Another huge thanks to all of our presenters, and also to Mrs. Amanda Davis for organizing a great event!

Today we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible ladies who serve our students with care, consistency, and a whole lot of heart each and every day. A huge THANK YOU to Sandra Hernandez, Norma Perez, Samantha Eakin, Hazel Torres, Sylvia Martinez, and Deisy Rodriguez for the impact you make on our campus. From early mornings to busy lunch lines, you go above and beyond to make sure our students are taken care of, not just with meals, but with kindness and smiles. You are a vital part of The Sundown Way, building relationships and creating a welcoming environment for every student who walks through your line. We appreciate you!
